New York’s most exciting fashion event is right around the corner. It happens only twice a year featuring Spring and Fall runway collections. This September, designers will show their projects for the upcoming Spring, 2013. Fashion Week begins on September 5th and ends on September 13th, featuring worldly known designers such as: Calvin Klein, Lacoste, BCBGMaxazria, Tommy Hilfiger, and Ralph Lauren. The list however, is much longer. Most shows are staged at the main location- Lincoln Center, but many will take place elsewhere, in smaller studios.

The evening of Friday, September 7th, most stores in Manhattan will prepare events, offer discounts, announce contests, and serve free food and beverages. Fashion’s Night Out is also a great night to catch a sight of someone famous.
What we all wish we could do however, would be to enter the tent and see a show live. All the shows are unfortunately invitation-only events and do not have tickets on sale. Fashion Week can be thought of as a very exclusive affair, and is held mainly for potential buyers of the new fashion creations. But, there’s also good news! If you’re desperate to spot a celebrity, you have a big chance to do so by spending a lot of time around Lincoln Center. During this week of the year that place is full of life.
