Motor scooter crashes are at an epidemic level on the streets of New York City. Last night was just one example as our Bronx patrol was right at the scene of a hit & run accident. A young man on a scooter was hit twice by 2 separate cars, seriously injuring him. Luckily “KC” and “Face” were at the scene and summoned the NYPD and the EMT’s. The scooter rider was taken to Jacobi hospital as KC spoke to his relatives by phone to tell them what had happened.
The other night the Upper East Side patrol leader “Dan” came across a woman who had fallen from her scooter as he was on his way home from patrolling. Luckily he was at the scene to help her in her time of need as she was bleeding heavily from her head.
All summer long Guardian Angels patrol would come across men or women lying in the street after being knocked from their scooters, some wearing helmets, some not wearing them. When the group would arrive at the scene nobody was aware of what was going on or simply chose not to get involved. Lucky for them the Guardian Angels patrols were always willing to lend a hand.
