NBC’s Found Lives On?

When you’re watching an up-and-coming show, one of the worst things for a viewer is that their favorite series is canceled. The C-word that everybody dreads is a term as old as time. Such is apparent as NBC has been on a purge, canceling shows left and right. Why? Poor ratings and budget costs. The primetime network has pulled the plug on “The Irrational,” “Suits: L.A.,” “Night Court,” “Lopez vs. Lopez,” and “Found.” All of them are as good as gone, but the latter has somewhat of a chance.

Warner Bros. Television announced that it’s looking for a new home for the procedural drama — happy news for fans ahead of its Season 2 finale this Thursday. Petitions have been made to save this show as well, so clearly there is a sense of impact from the show — surprisingly, due to reports of the show’s second season viewership dropping more than 30 percent.

“Found” stars Shanola Hampton and Mark-Paul Gosselaar. Hampton stars as public relations specialist Gabi Mosley, leading a crisis management team searching for kidnapped and missing individuals. She also deals with the trauma of her childhood kidnapper, Hugh “Sir” Evans (Gosselaar), as he still looms large in the shadows.

The Season 2 finale of “Found” airs this Thursday, May 15, at 10 p.m. ET. If Warner Bros. does not find a new home for the series, then this will serve as its series finale. TNT, Netflix, Hulu or Paramount+ could be worthy outlets to showcase “Found,” but it is up to the executives if it supports their vision.
