Op-Ed: Maeve Reilly is the Best Celebrity Stylist

When it comes to celebrity fashion, no one does it quite like celebrity stylist Maeve Reilly. The 35-year-old New York native has had a passion for styling since her teenage years and her drive has landed her some of Hollywood’s most influential celebrities.

Reilly went from dressing background dancers to dressing A-listers such as Hailey Bieber, Megan Fox, Ciara, and Lori Harvey.

Her unique styling broke the internet when she boldly styled Megan Fox in a completely sheer dress for the MTV Video Music Awards in September of 2021. Regarding her look, Fox wrote on Instagram, “Just me out here ignoring and denying all of your puritanical emotionally repressed projections of what a woman should be.”

With the help of Reilly, Fox has reinvented her style and reputation while making important statements and increasing her confidence with public appearances. From the moment they began working together, Fox had a serious glow-up. I truly did not know that was possible but hats off to Reilly for making Fox even hotter.

Although her red-carpet looks have been phenomenal, Reilly’s best work lies in her secret weapon: street style. She has put a spin on casual attire, making even mundane activities appear chic, alluring, classy, voguish, and even glamourous.

Below is a photo of Megan Fox going to Erewhon. I, too, look like this when making a casual grocery trip.

Through her new YouTube channel, Reilly has been able to share intimate details about her life, discuss her favorite looks, offer affordable fashion tips, and even educate her viewers on how to become a celebrity stylist.

Clothing aside, Reilly’s best quality is her gratitude for the stimulating and attractive life she lives. She has been open about her struggles with addiction in the past and continues to motivate go-getters everywhere with her positive attitude and dedication to her craft.

Rumors are going around in the fashion world that Tom Ford is looking to sell his namesake brand just after Bloomberg said the fashion and beauty business had appointed Goldman Sachs to find a buyer. Speculation is rising that Estée Lauder may be the leading contender to buy out the business as it already has the license for Tom Ford Beauty. Tom Ford, the company, currently designs and retails men’s and women’s wear, accessories, fragrances, beauty, and eyewear. Estée Lauder, which does not directly operate any fashion companies, could license out the ready-to-wear if it were to acquire the business.

    Dior Accused Of ‘Culturally
    Appropriating’ Chinese Skirt

Dior is facing heavy criticism of cultural appropriation after protestors claimed the luxury fashion brand copied a classic Chinese skirt design, which dates back to the Ming Dynasty. According to the ‘New York Post’, many Chinese student protestors stood outside one of the label’s Paris stores on Avenue des Champs-Elysées.

The Ethics Of Depop Sellers Upselling Thrift Finds

Since vintage 70s, 90s, and 2000s looks have come back into style over the past couple years, the clothing app Depop, which lets users buy and sell their new and used clothes, has blown up as a hub for unique items that cannot be found anywhere else. However, what once began as a way for individuals to resell their old clothing or for new designers to market their original pieces has now transitioned into a comprehensive marketplace of users thrifting clothing and reselling them for quadruple the price. Based on the higher demand for vintage clothing items, thrifting has been the primary method for fashion-forward people to enhance their wardrobes, and those who don’t have access to prime thrift stores turn to Depop for thrifted items. The problem lies in the ethics of reselling items that were originally donated for lower-income individuals, and are now generating sizable incomes for privileged individuals through Depop.
