On Friday, it was all about the royal wedding, but on Saturday, April 30, 2011, the very pregnant and 5 time Grammy Award winner gave birth to TWINS! Mariah Carey (42) and Nick Cannon (30) are now proud parents to twins, a girl weighing 5 lbs. 3 oz. and 18 inches long and her brother at 5 lbs. 6 oz. and 19 inches long. The couple was reported to be “completely overjoyed” and was even playing the song “We Belong Together” in the hospital according to Carey’s representative, Cindi Berger.
Surprisingly, Mariah was the calm one and Nick was over-the-top nervous that when they got into the hospital, [Nick] was going the wrong way and was redirected by the nurse to the maternity ward. What a nervous wreck, we must say!
A truly happy, memorable and “one-for-the-books” type of day for the Cannon Family since everything seemingly fell into the right place and time. April 30 happens to be the couple’s anniversary date and is now the birthday of their two new bouncing baby girl and boy.
