Robin McLauren Williams was an American actor and comedian. He was born on July 21st, 1951, and was known for his improvisational skills and a wide variety of characters he created spontaneously and portrayed in drama and comedy films. He is regarded as one of the greatest comedians of all time. When he was younger, the greatest influence on his humor was his mother, as he used it to gain her attention. He joined the drama club at several schools that he attended and was told by his friends that he was very funny, and that is how he got into acting.

He has received numerous accolades, including an Academy Award, two Primetime Emmy Awards, six Golden Globe Awards, and 5 Grammy Awards, as well as two Screen Actors Guild Awards. He was also awarded the Cecil B. DeMille Award in 2005. He started in dramas like One Hour Photo as well as family films such as Hook, Mrs. Doubtfire, Jumanji, and Flubber. He is st known for his role in Aladdin, Happy Feet, and Happy Feet 2. 

Williams married actress Valerie Velardi in 1978 and has a son, Zachary Pym, who was born in 1983. He divorced Velardi in 1988. He had two other children, Zelda Rae and Cody Alan, in his 2nd marriage. His daughter Zelda was named after the princess Zelda from the video game The Legend of Zelda. During his final years, Williams struggled with severe depression before his suicide at age 63 in 2014, and his children survived him.
