Samba Takeover

Shoes are the key component in tying any outfit together. Nike, adidas, New Balance, Converse, Reebok – the list of popular shoe brands goes on. Currently, adidas is hitting the jackpot in sales from their trending shoe style: Samba.

Initially created in the 1940s as an indoor football shoe, the revolution of Samba has come a long way. In the past few years, the Y2K aesthetic has made a comeback in style. The look of Sambas meets the criteria just right to fit into this category.

According to the site, HBX, “Naturally, the increasing number of collaborations helped Samba become the go-to sneaker in the past few years, appearing multiple times on the feet of literally everyone, from fashion-forward celebrities to your favorite social media influencers.” A big part of trends are the people who partake in them. When huge celebrities are wearing/advertising a certain brand or style, you are more prone to be persuaded to match their aura.

With my birthday weeks away and in need of a new sneaker, the shoe I immediately thought would be a staple in my wardrobe were adidas Samba. The clean look of the white Samba with black stripes never fails to catch an eye. Another trending color is the black shoe with white stripes; both types accompanied with a nude-colored rubber outsole.

Because Sambas are so versatile, you can style the shoe many ways. People will dress them up by pairing them with khakis and a plain tee or take the casual route and wear them with a matching sweat suit.

The beauty of the Samba shoe is that they are worn by both men and women equally. With other brands, there are some specific styles that trend more for one party than the other. Samba has been and can be worn by anyone, anywhere, anytime and looks stellar.
