The music video for the title track from Selena Gomez’s 2020 album Rare resembles a jungle fever dream. The spectacular visuals and editing make it feel like you’re in a fantasy dream full of flashing club lights, bubbles, towering palms, and tie-dye ambience are a delight to the eyes. It may seem like the video is a vision caused by hallucinogenic drugs,  but the video is linked to one of Selena’s deepest song. In this rainbow-coloured, fairytale woods she sings the confident and empowering anthem about recognizing how special she is. It is said that when she burst out of the bubble at one point in the video, it symbolizes her new attitude of self-acceptance and happiness that each new song touts in the album. After subsequent interruptions from the public eye, while she worked on her mental and physical health, she decided it was time to move past her negative emotions using RARE, which “describes her as honest, empowering and uplifting with a message of self-love, acceptance and empowerment, to move in a positive direction and to celebrate how far she has come.” (Bucksbaum, 2020)
