As the hype continues to build for the long-anticipated sequel to “Happy Gilmore” Adam Sandler has continued to drop new information for fans to get excited about. Last night on the “Tonight Show”, Adam Sandler sat down with Jimmy Fallon and talked a little bit about the film.
“We’re continuing to try and make it a movie that you guys would like and we’re excited, so many of the golfers are being nice and they’re gonna be a part of it… there’s gonna be a lot of that [cameos].”
In addition to having golfers in the movie, Fallon asked Sandler if he knew about Travis Kelce’s interest in being involved. In May when Netflix originally announced that the sequel was happening, Kelce talked on his podcast about wanting to appear in the film, “I didn’t even know there was a job opening on Happy Gilmore 2. I’ll be a (expletive) extra… anything to get around Happy Gilmore, an Adam Sandler film or set…count me in”.
Sandler confirmed that Kelce would indeed have some kind of role in the sequel saying, “We have a nice something for Travis”. He didn’t go into too much detail about how exactly Kelce would fit in, but he seemed pretty amped about having Kelce in the movie. “What a big, handsome guy. Funny and cool as hell. He’s a stud, and he’s so funny,” he said.
The movie is set to begin filming in New Jersey soon and is not expected to release on Netflix for another few years.
