Trimble Makes $100,000 Donation to World Food Program USA

Observing World Food Day, international industrial company, Trimble, announced the donation of $100,000 to World Food Program USA to support relief efforts as economic crises across the globe continue to unfold, resulting in entire populations being hungry. World Food Program USA, the U.S. partner of the United Nations World Food Programme, mobilizes American policymakers, businesses, and individuals to advance the global movement to end hunger.

As part of World Food Day and Trimble’s commitment to feeding the growing population across the world, Trimble’s donation will support the greatest needs programming, which includes emergency food assistance.

As an industrial technology company, Trimble is transforming the world by delivering solutions to help populations thrive. Trimble is deeply committed to improving food quality, safety, and sustainability by developing technologies in modeling, connectivity, and data analytics. Trimble is transforming not only the agricultural industry but also construction, geospatial, and transportation technologies.

“As a company deeply committed to feeding our growing population, we see a great need for supporting entities such as the World Food Program USA to help provide food and safety for people in crisis across the globe,” said Jim Chambers, vice president, and general manager, Trimble Agriculture. “Through the support of organizations that align with our mission to feed the world, we hope to provide food for communities who are made vulnerable by circumstances they cannot control, including women and children.”

World Food Day is an international annual celebration held on October 16th to commemorate the date of the founding of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization in 1945. The celebration received the Nobel Prize in Peace for 2020 for their efforts to combat hunger, contribute to peace in conflict areas, and for playing a leading role in stopping the use of hunger as a weapon for war and conflict. Its latest themes included “Grow, Nourish, Sustain. Together” in 2020, “Safe food now for a healthy tomorrow” and “Leave NO ONE behind” in 2022.

The United Nations World Food Programme is the world’s largest humanitarian organization, saving lives in emergencies and using food assistance to build a pathway to peace, stability, and prosperity for people recovering from conflict, disasters, and the impact of climate change. The organization based in Washington, DC is proud to support the mission of the United Nations World Food Programme by mobilizing American businesses, policymakers, and individuals to advance the global movement to end hunger.
