Winners of the 2017 Oscars

The Oscars took place on Sunday, February 26, 2017, in the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California. The host of the award show was television host Jimmy Kimmel. The 2017 Oscars had a lot of memorable moments. Viola Davis became the first black woman to receive an Oscar, Tony, and an Emmy for acting. Another memorable moment was when the presenter mistakenly announced “La La Land” as the best picture instead of “Moonlight”. PricewaterhouseCoopers the company that was in charge of the winner envelopes stated that one of their partners Brian Cullinan gave presenter Warren Beatty the wrong envelope. The envelop that was given to the presenters stated Emma Stone from “La La Land” won, which caused the presenter to think that La La Land won the best picture. PricewaterhouseCoopers have publicly apologized to the actors of “Moonlight” and “La La Land” also presenters Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway for the confusion.
