Thomas Wesley Pentz, known as Diplo, was born November 10, 1978, in Tupelo, Mississippi. Diplo went to school at the University of Central Florida where he started as DJ at a local radio station. He then moved to Philadelphia and drew attention as a DJ in the city. Fast forward to 2004, he met rapper M.I.A. and worked on a mixtape with her. Shortly after he released his first album titled ‘Florida’.Now, Diplo is one of the most successful DJ’s in the world. He is a three time Grammy winner, a thirteen time nominee, and has won multiple EDM/DJ awards.
