Bangs are Back in 2025

Out with the old and in with the fringe! Bangs are back and bigger than ever in 2025, thanks partly to some celebrities rocking the latest look. From Daisy Edgar-Jones to Billie Eilish, all of the hottest celebrities have revealed new looks over the last year, including a variety of fresh fringe.

With Y2K trends continuing to rock the style world, wispy straight-across bangs are a more significant trend than ever. People with all hair textures are rocking the look, from curly-haired cuties to straight-haired stunners. Billie Eilish, Emily Lind, and Renee Rapp are some of the biggest names rocking the wispy looks. These bangs are perfect for someone interested in trying the look but nervous about the commitment and upkeep that can come with bangs. Wispy bangs look cute without making too dramatic of a change to face shape, and they can be easily pinned back for the days when you don’t want to deal with hair on your face.

The mid-2000s trend of blunt bangs is also coming back. From Taylor Swift to Sabrina Carpenter, fashion and music icons embrace the thick forehead curtain, using face-framing side pieces to make their eyes pop. A true classic, blunt bangs are a quick way to grab your friends’ attention or make a bold change for the new year.

For a softer look, some are embracing piece bangs. Lily Collins and Anya Taylor Joy are some of the biggest names that rock the shaggy look. A versatile cut for any hair length, this cut gives the illusion of edginess without requiring the same level of upkeep the blunt bang demands. The classic style of rockers and alt-kids, piece bangs look best when paired with a shag, mullet, or wolf cut.

Although they’ve been out of fashion for several years, many style bloggers predict side-bangs will significantly return in 2025. Though extreme emo-scene bangs may not come back as big as they were in 2013, a subtle sidebang, as seen on Emma Roberts this year, is a classy way to subtly incorporate the bang trend into your wardrobe without committing to a life-altering look.

Get ready for the year of the bangs! Grab your hair scissors, download some YouTube tutorials, and prepare for a life-changing haircut that will make all your friends jealous.
