New Music Coming Out Early 2025

Starting 2025 with some good tunes is vital to a successful year. These first few months, artists across genres are releasing brand new tracks you’re sure to love.

January 24th: The Bad Fire by Mogwai

The Scottish post-rock band Mogwai will release its new album, “The Bad Fire,” today, January 24th. Formed in 1995 in Glasgow, Mogwai has been climbing the charts in the UK, especially with its previous 10th album, “As the Love Continues,” which reached No.1 on the UK Albums chart in 2021.

January 24th, Eusexua by FKA Twigs

Also released today is the 11-song-album “Eusexua” by FKA Twigs. In an interview with British Vogue, Twigs explained that “Eusexua” means a euphoria that can only be achieved through art, music, sex, or unity. FKA Twigs, or Tahliah Debrett Barnett, was born in England and chose to be known professionally as “FKA Twigs” simply because she liked how the name sounded. She wanted a combination of letters that sounded masculine. Her third album will surely be a hit with electronic/dance fans everywhere.

February 7th: Critical Thinking by Manic Street Preachers

80s indie, disco, and a hint of metallic punk, the Manic Street Preachers, or simply the Manics, will release their 15th studio album on February 7th, comprising 12 brand new songs. The Welsh band formed in 1986 and is not yet done releasing music. With their hundreds of millions of streams on Spotify, fans are excited to finally listen to their new album.

February 14th: Love & Hyperbole by Alessia Cara

Alessia Cara blew up with her hit songs “Here,” “Scars to Your Beautiful,” “Stay,” and “How Far I’ll Go” from the movie “Moana.”  The artist is coming out with a fourth studio album, “Love & Hyperbole.” According to People magazine, Cara has been working on this album since 2021 but only announced the album’s existence in 2023.

February 14th: Automatic by The Lumineers

The Lumineers are an indie-folk band consisting of Wesley Schultz and Jeremiah Fraites members. The preview video for their new album “Automatic” was released two weeks ago on YouTube and featured a sneak peek into the 11 new songs on the album. Fans commenting on the video are grateful for the upcoming album, saying things such as @mhdz, “This dropped exactly when I most needed it.” It seems as if fans are most excited to hear “Sunflowers” and “Strings” from the new album, so hopefully, the band will deliver.
