McDonald’s Brings Back The Shamrock Shake For A Limited-Time

The iconic Shamrock shake returns to McDonald’s menus for a limited time this St. Patrick’s Day. The fast food giant announced the arrival of the beloved seasonal item early Tuesday morning. According to the press release, McDonald’s is set to honor the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), a charity that partnered with the company for over 50 years, this Shamrock season. RMHC provides essential services to families with sick or injured children. Currently, the organization has over 255 chapters worldwide.

In separate statements, McDonald’s North American Chief Impact Officer Michael Gonda and second-generation McDonald’s franchisee Joy Silmon expressed their excitement about the event.

“Our fans eagerly await the Shamrock Shake each year. We are thrilled that proceeds from this minty-flavored treat will aid RMHC in keeping families together,” said Silmon. “Family is a core value at McDonald’s, and we live this daily. Together, with our Crew, customers, and iconic McDonaldland character, Uncle O’Grimacey, we’re helping RMHC make families feel at home, even when they can’t be.”

“Our long-standing tradition of the Shamrock Shake is a testament to the joy we bring to our customers. This year, we are getting back to the first fundraiser that started our incredible partnership with RMHC,” said Gonda. “This Shamrock Shake Season, with a little extra cheer from the Grimace family, we’re reminded that the most precious gift is being close to those you love.”

McDonald’s will donate 25 cents to the RMHC for every Shamrock Shake purchase, with a goal of $5 million by the end of the Shamrock season. Additionally, McDonals celebrates the Shamrock Shakes’ return with the reappearance of Grimace’s uncle, Uncle O’Grimacey.

According to the press release, Uncle O’Grimacey is set to travel from Ireland to America to help his nephew celebrate the RMHC’s anniversary. Alongside the shake, customers can purchase exclusive swag from the Uncle O’Grimacey Merchandise Collection online.

The collection includes wearable items such as t-shirts, baseball caps, crewnecks, and more.

The Shamrock Shake will be available in McDonald’s locations from February 10 to March 23, 2025. For more information, visit the official McDonald’s website.
