UNC defeats San Diego

The UNC Tar Heels defeated the San Diego State Aztecs in a 95-68 win. Considering that both teams were No.11 seeds in their conference, one of them would be unlucky that night. A blowout, the Tar Heels had their best offensive game of the season. It is a statement game based on the controversy of being among the last teams selected in the NCAA Field.

UNC proved to the College Basketball world that they deserve to be here. Point guard RJ Davis led by example with 26 points: six out of six of his three-point attempts and eight of 12 shots overall. Jae’Lyn Withers had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Adding to the momentum, Seth Trimble scored 16 points, and Elliot had nine points and 12 assists. This team effort gave UNC its 134th all-time NCAA Tournament game, amassing its record for the most in history.

Despite the achievements, the UNC Tar Heels aren’t done yet. The team advances to the South region first round to face the number six seed Ole Mississippi Rebels in Milwaukee on TNT this Friday at 4:05 p.m.

It’s going to be a big challenge for UNC. However, if they continue the same all-around team effort displayed on Tuesday, then the sky’s the limit. The Tar Heels are showing that they deserve to be here, and that underdog mentality is not stopping anytime soon.
