Protesters Tasered at Town Hall

Last Tuesday night was a hectic array of events when Majorie Taylor Greene’s town hall meeting was interrupted by protestors. About nine people were protesting, calling the republican a “terrorist,” waving signs and even chanting “Free Kilmar.”

Police escorted six protestors but had to arrest three others. Two of the protesters were stunned with tasers as officers believed them to be threatening and physically resisting. One of the three shoved one of the officers as they walked him, ensuing a scuffle. The department later stated that the individuals created a public safety threat to all the attendees.

Greene mentioned during the event that there were 100 protesters outside the building and to “have fun” out there, accusing the protesters of being funded by the Democrats in order to disrupt the event.

In Addition, the Republican warned the audience members that this was a “town hall” not a political rally.” However, the most troubling thing that happened was her publicly comparing the protester who was removed to Kilmar Abrego Garcia. She referred to Kilmar as an “illegal alien” – a false statement as Garcia has a legal protected status.

To summarize, this was not the only town hall heckled that day. Democrats have also received complaints, protests and attacks for their actions of not confronting President Trump. So, this political pushback is going to continue, but who knows what will transpire in the midst of this.
