Mini Golf Can Improve Your Short Game

Being introduced to any kind of new sport can be intimidating for those who haven’t had experience with it. This is especially the case for golf, which can be difficult to master. However, if you occasionally like to mess around with the miniature version of golf, you might have an unexpected leg-up when you play the real thing.

Mini golf is intended to be a recreational sport that spices things up with pinwheels and other obstacles, but it can also help golfers perform better with the putter. The short game in normal golf is all about using precision and the perfect amount of power to get the ball into the hole. Mini golf also rewards those who keep this in mind, with the game only consisting of closing short distances with a putter. You will save yourself from unnecessary extra shots by implementing these skills on the green. Even just learning about how to properly hold the club is essential to improvement!

Comparisons don’t stop there, as even the wacky obstacles that are colorfully displayed in mini golf serve a purpose for your improvement. Slopes are very exaggerated in most courses but learning how to read the green is important to figure out how not to overshoot the hole. Obstacles are more subtle in normal golf, but they are there all the same. If you can avoid a giant plastic dragon guarding the hole, then you can avoid anything! Overall, I would say that getting good at mini golf will help beginners ease into the short game.
