Knicks Extend Contract with Mikal Bridges

With all the new players the Knicks are bringing into the fold, it’s interesting to see them also preserve some players who have been with them for some time now. Recently, Mikal Bridges agreed to a four-year contract extension with the team for $150 million. This is being seen as a huge investment for the Knicks, but many people question whether Mikal is worth that much money. What does he have to offer?

According to Sports Illustrated, there is a lot to like and dislike about Mikal’s game during his time with the Brooklyn Nets last year. His offense can be impressive at times, as he can make shots from positions that many other players would struggle with. His defense was also something to admire, as it was arguably his greatest strength. However, his success with scoring and defense is not consistent, and that can be seen with his time with the Nets. This can also be reflected in his current stats, showing that he is an overall good player, but needs improvement in some areas.

His time with the Knicks has been a mixed bag for the most part, but he did perform quite well during the playoffs. He had numerous clutch moments and proved that he was finally adjusting to the team. For most teams, chemistry is the most important aspect of team building, which the Knicks know all too well. With Mikal’s focus on being a team player, it’s easy to see why the Knicks would consider that being an important trait that he possesses. While many argue that $150 million is too much for Mikal, the Knicks seem confident that the money was well spent and will allow for many more victories to come.
