Despite the demands of many for the Epstein files to be released for the public to see, I highly doubt that will be happening anytime soon, especially when taking in the Trump administration’s efforts to keep it under wraps. It would be for the best for the files to be released but the possibility seems rather slim.
The biggest obstacle for its release now is Trump himself as at first, he utilized promises to release the files to get himself elected which ended up working well in his favor. MAGA seemed to support Trump’s promise to release the files as well, in hopes that many from the opposing party would be on the list. Now that Trump has been elected however, he has done little to deliver on this promise and has even gone on to state that the files don’t exist, while calling the whole ordeal a hoax as many speculate that his refusal to release the files may be tied to his past association with Epstein.
There’s also reason to suspect that members of both parties as well as others may be on the list and have pulled some strings behind the scenes, but it’s without a doubt that who they are may remain unknown for as long as the files remain under wraps. While there are also worries about how the files being released may hinder investigations as well as jury hearings as Ghislaine Maxwell’s case on her role with Epstein’s trafficking is still debated over, it’s still clear that there’s a lot of factors keeping the files away for the time being.
