If you are on any social media such as TikTok or Instagram, then it is more than likely you have heard of Chappell Roan, or at the very least, have heard her music. Responsible for hits such as “HOT TO GO”, “Good Luck, Babe”, and my personal favorite “Pink Pony Club”, Roan’s music is undeniably popular among the recent generation of teenagers and young adults. However, could all of this soon be crashing down?
In recent news, few people have spoken up and called out the star for her recent behavior and attitude caught on camera. In one popular video circulating on social media, Roan can be seen pushing her assistant out of the way so she can speak to fans, using the back of her arm after seemingly stepping into her path.
While the move was subtle and not violent by any means, many people have called Roan out for this behavior, citing how “rude” and “arrogant” this gesture was on Roan’s part. Following the release of the video, many people have then called into question the content of Roan’s character and speculated how different the singer may be when no one is looking.
Some people have come to Roan’s defense, citing how the push was misread. Instead of pushing her assistant, other people defended Roan by saying she actually “moved her aside” during a crowded event. Additionally, citing how the action was not repeated during the event, to the knowledge of the public. To insert my own opinion of the matter, I do not view the gesture as rude or arrogant on the part of Roan herself. To consider every factor, the singer was present in a loud and crowded event, and sometimes people may run into one another during the chaos. To fully write this off as a rude gesture would be incorrect on my part, and to cite this sole event as such would
