If you are not aware of the recent news, the U.S. Government has recently begun to deploy ICE agents to provide support for the understaffed and overworked workers in airports across the country. Following many TSA’s leaving their job positions due to the partial government shutdown, the U.S. Government has deployed ICE agents to assist in monitoring and controlling the crowds in airports all over America.
But for once, we will not be discussing the behavior or any breaking news centered around the presence of ICE agents in American airports. Rather, I would like to discuss the recent videos circling around the internet that showcase a few ICE agents, revealing just how shockingly young some of the agents are.
One particular video showcases a few ICE agents as they speak with people before they board their plane. Standing not particularly tall, on the thinner side, with a small face, one agent in particular looks very, very young, especially when compared to the ICE agents we are used to seeing. Not to be rude, but he looks like he could belong right on my college campus.
And with this recent video, this leaves me wonder if the younger generation sees no problem with ICE Immigration under the Trump Administration? With the death of many innocent people, the mass deportation of families and loved ones, and the inhumane detainment centers, it is clear that ICE agents are doing anything but helping our country. Well, at least I thought it was clear. How can younger generations of people push this aside and instead contribute to the fear and terror that is currently rampant in our country? And as the younger generations grow and begin to rise to power, will we still hold these old and negative views that do nothing but create fear and division?
