Whether you know him as the famous character of Domingo or the underrated and my personal favorite character, Joaquín Antonio González Hernández Suárez, you know and love Marcello Hernández. Joining the long-running show “Saturday Night Live” or SNL for the 48th season, Hernández has skyrocketed to fame and glory on the show. Now, as the 51st season of SNL quickly comes to an end for its season finally, we can only hope that we see more of Hernández in the new season.
Many people know Hernández from his famous skit where he played the character of Domingo. Portraying a fun and desirable home-wrecker, Hernández effortlessly captured the character’s essence while balancing between humor and acting. He has done so well as the character that the character has been featured in three main sketches recently.
However, I think Hernández really shines through as the character, Joaquín Antonio González Hernández Suárez. As the main character in the “Immigrant Dad Talk Show” sketch, Hernández’s humor is at the forefront! In combining humor with his own personal background, Hernández brings a different light and perspective that we all can enjoy.
Moving past his well-known sketches, Hernández overall just shines in every sketch he is in. You can feel the energy shift when he walks onto the stage from the audience alone! If you hear cheering, clapping, and or whistling from the audience, you already know who has appeared on the stage. I really hope he intends to stay on SNL for a long while. Marcello Hernández: A Rising Star on SNL!
