Face Masks: Are They Really Relaxing?

As someone who tries to practice consistent selfcare, I occasionally apply a beauty face mask to help with skin hydration and additionally help me relax after a long day. But recently, face masks have been doing the opposite of helping me relax. I dare say they occasionally become the source of my stress.

This specifically applies to sheet beauty face masks. I feel like after placing the sheet on my face, I must constantly reapply and readjust the mask to keep it from slipping off my face. And when I finally get the mask in the position I want, it begins to slide off my face. Again.

Do you see the endless cycle?

And let’s address the dripping. Many packaging for face sheet masks often leaves the masks soaked. And, as a consequence, much of the residue drips from the mask once placed onto your face. Drip, drip, drip.

And personally, that drives me crazy. And even more personally, I am not dealing with that when I want to relax. You know, I wonder if clay masks would provide more ease?
