This year marks the 250th anniversary of the United States’ independence, and the 2026 FIFA World Cup is also coming to the NY/NJ area. On top of that, pop star Taylor Swift is planning a two-day event at Madison Square Garden that could actually be her wedding.
You can enjoy the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks show, as there will be non-ticket public viewing areas available along the FDR Drive in Manhattan. Entrances are available on Montgomery Street at Madison Street, Robert Wagner Place at the Brooklyn Bridge off and on ramp, and Broad Street at Water Street.
From July 4th to July 5th, from noon to 7 p.m. at Times Square Skywalk, 1475 Broadway in Manhattan, you can go on the 360-degree viewing deck on the 19th floor of the Times Square Skywalk.
The largest maritime and aerial gathering is coming to New York Harbor this weekend. Around 80 vessels will take part. Register now to save your spot for free viewing and touring these vessels up close.
The locations are on Staten Island: The USS Sullivan’s Homeport Pier at 305 Front Street. Manhattan: South Street Seaport Pier 15 and 17 at 89 South Street, as well as Sail City Pier 86 and 90 at 711 12th Avenue. Brooklyn: Brooklyn Bridge Park at Piers 1, 3 and 5 at 2 and 334 Furman Street.
It will be from July 3rd to July 8th, and admissions for the free public ship tours are available July 5th to 7th from noon to 6 pm.
The Fraunces Tavern Museum, 54 Pearl Street in Manhattan, on July 3rd at 2:30 to 4 pm will be hosting a symposium to commemorate the U.S. semi-quincentennial deaths of John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and James Monroe, who all died on July 4th. Entrance is free.
The Museum will be open after hours to live stream the Times Square Ball drop to celebrate the country’s 250th birthday with games and activities on July 3rd from 6 pm to 12 am. The entrance fee is $1.
