A Gift From the NBA

It’s the season of giving! The holidays are here and even the NBA is in spirit. The 2020-21 regular season starts on December 22nd, and the league is giving us five gifts in the form of awesome Christmas Day matchups.

Zion Williamson will make his Christmas Day debut against the reigning Eastern Conference champion, the Miami Heat.

The league MVP Giannis Antetkoumpo and the Milwaukee Bucks will face the Golden State Warriors, led by a now-healthy Stephen Curry.

The new and improved Brooklyn Nets will face off against the Boston Celtics, who made a deep playoff run last year. Also keep an eye on super star point guard Kyrie Irving as he makes his return to Boston with a healthy Kevin Durant on his side.

The Los Angeles Clippers will have a chance at revenge in a matchup with the Denver Nuggets. There is obviously some bad blood, considering the fact that the Nuggets bounced them from the playoffs in game seven of the Western Conference Semi-Final.

The biggest matchup of the evening, however, features the reigning NBA champions, the Los Angeles Lakers, facing off against MVP candidate Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks. LeBron James wasted no time extending his contract, signing a two-year deal. With pressure on the Lakers to repeat, look for them to come out flying this regular season.

With the season starting up so quickly after the NBA Bubble in Orlando, some teams haven’t had much time off, while others have had nearly nine months. The start of the regular season should prove interesting.
