I know we all look forward to ‘New Music Friday’, a weekly conglomerate of every artist’s most recent discography. Personally, I’m not sure when the industry decided to release hours’ worth of hits, but I will not be the first to complain. Jacksonville Jaguars Hire New Head Coach

The Jacksonville Jaguars announced their new head coach hire, ending a 30+ day search to
replace Urban Meyer, yesterday night.

Doug Pederson, former quarterback and previous Philadelphia Eagles head coach, will be elected
the ninth head coach in Jaguars history. The Jaguars are hoping for a successful head coach hire,
as their previous only lasted thirteen games before being fired in December. Their offensive
coach, Darrell Bevell, has been Meyer’s temporary replacement since his unseemly termination.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation announced their nominees for the 2022 induction just yesterday. The official nominees include: Beck, Pat Benatar, Kate Bush, DEVO, Duran Duran, Eminem, Eurythmics, Judas Priest, Fela Kuti, MC5, New York Dolls, Dolly Parton, Rage Against the Machine, Lionel Richie, Carly Simon, A Tribe Called Quest, and Dionne Warwick. To be eligible for these nominations, each of these artists have released their first commercial recording at least 25 years prior to this nomination.

Governor Kathy Hochul Wins Endorsements from Queens and Bronx Democrats

With the 2022 New York gubernatorial election coming up later this year, several candidates are vying for the governor position. On the Democratic side, US Representative Thomas Suozzi and New York City Public Advocate Jumaane Williams have announced their gubernatorial candidacies. For the Republicans, US Representative Lee Zeldin of Long Island, Andrew Giuliani of the Trump administration, and Rob Astorino of Westchester County have also launched gubernatorial bids.

Four Men Arrested in Connection with Michael K. Williams Overdose

Four men have been arrested for alleged involvement with a drug trafficking organization that sold ‘fentanyl-laced heroin’ to actor and producer Michael K. Williams. Williams was an emmy-nominated actor and producer, best known for his roles in ‘The Wire’, ‘12 Years a Slave’, and ‘Boardwalk Empire’. Williams was found dead in September of 2021 in his New York City apartment. Shortly after his death, the NY Medical Examiner’s Office determined Williams’ cause of death to be an accidental overdose.

CBS is airing Celebrity Big Brother 3, the celebrity twist on the long-running famed reality series, tonight after announcing the news in September of 2021. The series premiere of Celebrity Big Brother in 2018 had the highest ratings the show had seen since their premiere of ‘Big Brother 13’ in July of 2011. I firmly believe myself to have been a major contributor to those viewer counts.

After two seasons as the ‘Washington Football team’, team president Jason Wright revealed the team’s new name this morning alongside senior advisor Doug Williams and current team captain Jonathan Allen. The team is officially the ‘Washington Commanders’. Wright and coach Ron Rivera had been insistent on the team’s name being tied to the military, due to the connection to the nation’s capital.

Whoopi Goldberg Temporarily Suspended from “The View”

Long-time host of “The View,” Whoopi Goldberg, has been suspended from the show for two weeks following her remarks about the Holocaust. On Monday, during the scheduled program, Goldberg commented that the Holocaust was “not about race, but about man’s inhumanity to man.” The comment came in regard to the show’s discussion of a Tennessee school board banning the graphic novel, “Maus”. The novel deals with the exploration of Nazi internment camps during World War II.
