Thom Browne has announced that he will be sitting out for the New York Fashion Week of February. He will now be staging his unisex 2022 fall collection in New York by the end of April. He will still, however, be including a new project for New York Fashion Week that relates to his forthcoming collection
As people around the world eagerly tune in during the kick off of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, three-time figure skating world champion Nathan Chen will be leading the United States team as they look forward to adding onto their previous two bronze medals. This will also be Chen’s opportunity to avenge his 2018 Olympic short program performance that had placed him in fourth place. The U.S. figure skating team has stated that among this group will include ice dancers Madison Hubbell and Zachary Donohue, followed by the pair of Alexa Knierim and Brandon Frazier on Friday.
Lin-Manuel Miranda never fails to amaze crowds with his creative musical talents, and Encanto’s “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” has just proved that by racing to the top of the “Hot 100” list, taking Adele’s “Easy on Me” place. “It’s been really amazing because ensemble numbers don’t usually get this kind of love,” Miranda remarked on Billboard‘s Pop Shop Podcast.“We Don’t Talk About Bruno” is Disney’s second song to land the top spot on “Hot 100”, though it is the first to do it in 29 years, after Aladdin’s “A Whole New World”, with Brad Kane, Lea Salonga landed No. 1 back in 1993.
Judge Michelle Childs has been set to have her Senate confirmation hearing in order to become a federal appeals court judge on Tuesday, weeks after President Joe Biden nominated her on the 10th of January. At just 19 years old Zara Rutherford has made history as the second youngest person to fly solo across the world, setting a new Guinness World Record as the youngest woman to do so. Rutherford took the title from previous record holder, U.S. aviator Shaesta Waiz, who had accomplished the previous record at the age of 30 in 2017 with her “Dreams Soar” flight. After a 155-day journey that began on the 18th of August 2021, Rutherford landed back where she had started in Kortrijk-Wevelgem airport in Belgium on the 20th of January, 2022.
A battle has been sprung between parents of young children and conservative politicians in the middle of several Texas school libraries. Back in October of 2021, Rep. Matt Krause has issued a list of 850 books he wanted Texas school libraries to take off of their shelves, due to him thinking these materials might “make students feel discomfort, guilt, anguish, or any form of psychological distress because of their race or sex.” The bans are taking place following a number of conservative lawmakers and parents alike who had expressed complaints regarding the contents of these books.
As the tremendously contagious Omicron variant continues to propel its way through the world, the youngest generation of the population will be able to get the Covid-19 vaccination even sooner than expected. Pfizer board member and previous commissioner of the FDA, Scott Gottlieb, stated on Sunday that the vaccine is likely to be approved by March. Pfizer-BioNTech is seeking approval from the United States Food and Drug Administration to sanction a Covid-19 vaccine directed for the more than 19 million children in the United States under 5 years old in a two-dose process as continual research on the benefits of three doses is published.
