Billie Eilish reveals that “Barbie” saved her from depression at the Golden Globes Awards

American pop sensation Billie Eilish revealed that writing the song “What Was I Made For” for the hit film “Barbie” saved her from depression as she was accepting her award. The singer won the award for Best Original Song (for a motion picture). She accepted the award alongside her brother and fellow musician FINNEAS.

At the beginning of her speech, she thanked the Golden Globes, and mentioned that she wasn’t expecting to win; she continued thanking her brother, the creators of the film Greta and Noah, the actress who played the protagonist in the film Margot, Mattel (manufacturer of the barbie dolls), as well as her parents, label, and team amongst others.

After this, She stated that when she was first shown the movie a year ago, she was “very miserable and depressed at the time”, and that writing the song for the film “saved her a little bit”. She also mentioned that it was such a surreal moment and that she felt very lucky as well as grateful.

Barbie was one of the highest-grossing films of 2023; it has earned 636 million in North America and 1.4 billion worldwide, as per Variety Magazine. It is credited for being one of Warner Bros. highest highest-grossing films of all time.

This movie brought little girls and adults alike swarming into the theaters (most of them notably dressed in all pink). Barbie will go down as one of the most memorable movies of 2023, and the motion picture itself had incredible messages of feminism, self-discovery, and empowerment. If you haven’t checked out the film already hurry up and do so cause Barbie is available in theaters today!
