Broadway Cares For Bares

9:30 pm on Saturday, August 1, the world will get to experience Broadway Bares in the comfort of their own home. Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS is deciding to get everyone’s television a little steamy and all for a good cause. Every dollar donated will help those across the country affected by HIV/AIDS, COVID-19, and other critical illnesses receive healthy meals, lifesaving medication, emergency financial assistance, housing, counseling and more. The donations also support and champion organizations focused on social justice and anti-racism. You can catch the Broadway Bares performance Broadwaycares.org, Broadway Cares Youtube channel and on other sites like  BroadwayWorld.com, iHeartRadioBroadway.com, Playbill.com, TheaterMania.com and the Pride Media family of sites including Advocate.com, Out.com and Pride.com. This year’s performance was supposed to be an in-person extravaganza, on June 21st, with it being the 30th anniversary, now being postponed until 2021.  The cast will have new performances that make social distancing look so good. Also memorable songs from past shows and new appearances by special celebrity guests are sure to please regulars to newcomers. The special guests will be announced in the coming weeks. Again remember to tune in and donate August 1st at 9:30 pm. Not only for a good time but for a good cause!

    The National Theatre’s 1998 production of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s ‘Oklahoma!’ is heading to the silver screens. The Olivier Award-winning revival starred then-newcomer Hugh Jackman as Curly and was filmed following the record-breaking London run. The film will be screened in more than 800 cinemas for two days only – Sunday, July 16, and Wednesday, July 19. Screenings will be held in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, Norway, and Australia.

    April 27th was the Tony Awards cutoff that officially marks the end of the 2022-23 Broadway season, but next season is already heating up, with several major shows set to open over the summer. The first new show of the 2023-24 season opens in May.
