BTS Says They Will Take a Break to Pursue Solo Projects

BTS, the South Korean boy band whose songs are upbeat and catchy songs that have fans swooning over them, has officially announced that they will be taking a break.

The band informed fans during a television dinner celebrating their anniversary as a band called FESTA. During the dinner, the band reminisced about the past and talked about the future of BTS. The entirety of the conversation lasted an hour and was later uploaded onto their official YouTube channel for fans to see. They stated that the break is due to them wanting to pursue solo projects.

According to band member Jimin, he says that the group has been going through a rough patch, stating, “We’re trying to find our identity, and that’s an exhausting and long process,” he expressed.

During the dinner conversation, one of the band members, RM, expressed that they have achieved a great deal of success together as a group, but they need to grow and mature individually as well. RM stated, “I always thought that BTS was different from other groups, but the problem with K-pop and the whole idol system is that they don’t give you time to mature. You have to keep producing music and keep doing something.”

Other members also agreed and expressed their feelings about the break.

Jimin expressed, “We can’t help but think of our fans no matter what. We want to be the kind of artists that are remembered by our fans. I think that’s why we’re going through a rough patch right now, we’re trying to find our identity.”

V reassured fans that the band would get back together “later when we gather again as a group, that synergy will be like no other.”
This news comes after BTS was named the world’s best-selling artist of 2021 and after they had just released a music video for their new song “Yet To Come (The Most Beautiful Moment),” which is the title track of their latest compilation album titled “Proof.”
