Chiefs declare Jason Kelce their ‘NO. 1 HYPE MAN!!!!’ as he cheered shirtless during Sunday’s Divisional Playoff

Philadelphia Eagles’ Jason Kelce was deemed “NO. 1 HYPE MAN!!!!” by the Kansas City Chiefs after he was seen cheering wildly, drink in hand, and shirtless during the NFL Divisional Playoff game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills. Kelce’s enthusiastic display was in response to his brother Travis Kelce’s first touchdown of the game.

Just seconds prior to the elder Kelce brother stealing the show, Travis chucked the football into the stands and blew a kiss, then made a heart with his hands, appearing to signal that the touchdown was scored for Taylor Swift, who had been watching from a suite above. Taylor and the Kelce family were seen warmly interacting throughout the game. The moment went viral but was soon eclipsed when Jason ripped his shirt off to celebrate the score amidst freezing temperatures at Highmark Stadium. The center for the Eagles was then seen jumping down into the crowd, but he returned quickly to the suit after being met with boos from the Bills’ fans.

Another highlight of the game was when Travis caught a touchdown pass from quarterback Patrick Mahomes to put Kansas City ahead in the second quarter and give the duo the record for most postseason touchdown connections between a QB and tight end, according to CNN. The Chiefs were able to win against the Buffalo Bills with a close score of 27-24, reaching their sixth straight AFC Championship game.

In the week prior, rumors had been circulating on Jason Kelce’s future with the NFL, following a 32-9 Wild Card round loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Reports had alleged that the 36-year-old Super Bowl champion and six-time All-Pro would be retiring soon.

Jason dispelled rumors last Wednesday in the “New Heights” podcast, he said no such decision had been made yet and that he intentionally avoided making any announcement at that point despite what the media had leaked. During the game last Sunday, it seemed his only focus was cheering his little brother on and celebrating his accomplishments!
