Colin Kaepernick Working Out With
The Raiders After 5 Years Out Of The
NFL

After 5 years of not playing in the NFL, Colin Kaepernick landed a workout with the Las
Vegas Raiders on Wednesday, according to ESPN and confirmed by CBS Sports NFL
Insider Josina Anderson. This is Kaepernick’s second visit with an NFL team since
visiting with the Seattle Seahawks in May of 2017.

The workout is taking place at the team facility with head coach Josh McDaniels and
general manager Dave Ziegler expected to be present, per Albert Breer from Sports
Illustrated.

Kaepernick gained much praise and criticism when he knelt during the national anthem
as a sign of protest against police brutality and racial inequality back in 2016. He later
filed a collusion grievance against the NFL claiming that its owners were “conspiring to
keep him out of the league.”

Since then, Kaepernick has made a name for himself as a civil activist who stands up
for racial equality and justice in the United States.

The 36th overall pick of the 2011 NFL Draft played for six seasons with The San
Francisco 49ers, where he helped lead his team to an appearance in Super Bowl XLVII.

Although he hasn’t played in the NFL in over five years, Kaepernick has been keeping
busy during his off season. Recently, he served as the honorary captain at the
University of Michigan’s spring game.
