DC Studios are Mapping its Next 10-Year Plan: What’s Next?

Screenwriter James Gunn and movie producer Peter Safran has announced that they are currently working on DC Studio’s new 10-year plan. The DC franchise faced a series of failures and missteps since 2013 when they attempted to rival Marvel’s cinematic universe. The franchise also faced internal instability after Warner Bros was bought by Warner Bros. Since the acquisition, Warner Bros. has consistently attempted to revamp DC. Part of the studio’s major overhauls included Warner Bros. hires James Gunn and James Safron to work as co-CEOs. In the Warner Bros. recent Discovery town hall, James Gunn discussed working on future plans.

“The opportunity to make DC as great as it can be and as it should be — that is the reason why I’m doing this job because I know that Peter and I can do that. We spent the past couple of days with a group of some of the best thinkers in the industry, the best writers in the industry, starting to map out that eight to 10-year plan of what it’s going to look like in theater, in TV, in animation, across the board for these characters.”

Fans are excited at the studio’s newfound opportunity to truly fulfill its potential. They may be comforted knowing that in keeping up with tradition, the future plans will likely be released to the public during San Diego’s comic con. Although the plans will be released this summer, the public will have to wait until 2024 to see the full effect of this rebranding. So far, all upcoming DCU movie releases will not be impacted by DCU’s new leadership or brand.
