This year, Demi Lovato, along with Glee star Kevin McHale, will be hosting the Teen Choice Awards! This was confirmed on Monday via Twitter by @TeenChoiceGirl, the official twitter of the Teen Choice Awards, and an immediate re-tweet was made by Demi’s official Twitter account.
Kevin has also made a statement saying “Demi and I have been friends for years, and I’d like to thank her for letting me in on the fun co-hosting Teen Choice 2012, it’s exciting to finally be working together professionally and I’d like to welcome her to the Fox family. This is going to be a great show.”
This year’s Teen Choice awards are set to feature popular celebs such as Miley Cyrus, Zac Efron, Selena Gomez, Josh Hutcherson, Lea Michele and Taylor Swift. As well as performances by No Doubt, Justin Bieber, Flo Rida and Carly Rae Jepsen.
Demi’s schedule is already busy with a U.S tour and being the new judge on the X Factor! But in an interview for the X Factor, Lovato said “I’m feeling really, really excited. I’m really honored to be hosting it. I grew up watching it and now I’m gonna be hosting it, which is insane to me. And being nominated is such a great feeling, so I’m really thankful for every teenager out there that’s voted.”
A promo picture of Lovato standing next to the show’s iconic surfboard award has been released. The show will air on July 22 on Fox.
