Director Jay Horwitz was there to represent Mets personnel being inducted. Another broadcaster who is a member of the World Champion Texas Rangers broadcast team that was inducted was long-time MLB catcher Dave Valle who was born and raised in New York.
The highlight of the ceremony is always having Diana Munson wife of Yankee great Thurman Munson in attendance. She always hits us right between the eyes with her magic words and truly incredible heart. Her love of the Yankees and how she cares for these players is always quite evident. The excitement in the faces of the fans when they meet her is amazing. They can’t ever get enough of her. Her appreciation of baseball and the Yankees is evident.
Hall of Fame director Rene LeRoux and the NYSBHOF and for that matter, all of us in attendance are very grateful whenever Diana can attend this great ceremony because we truly do appreciate her and consider her true Baseball royalty!
