Enter The Funhouse: Why Prettifun Is a Walking Kaleidoscope

A weird quirk of mine is that I often associate color with music. Depending on who I listen to, there is a color I think of when it comes to a specific artist. Purple for Kendrick Lamar, Red for Kanye West, Green for Tyler The Creator, and so forth.

However, when it comes to this artist, I could not pinpoint an actual color that epitomizes. His music was just too colorful. It felt like I was falling through the confines of a prismatic zone. A uniqueness that I don’t think most people are capable flesh out in their music

Introducing Prettifun. Hailing from Charlotte, North Carolina. The 20 year old rapper and producer contributed to the projects from Atlanta rapper, Che. It was there when people started to know his name and built a reputation.

The positive reception led to a passionate fanbase of his own which increased thanks to the release of his two albums, “Pretti” and “Funhouse”. Both released in 2024 and developed huge traction for the artist.

Prettifun is clearly influenced by Lil Uzi Vert, often sharing his vocal whimsicality. Yet with his own twist as Uzi has gothic undertones, Prettifun has candy-coated melodies and delivery.

Songs such as “Sparky”, “Unfazed”, and “Light” are perfect showcases of his sound. The music videos also reflect the prismatic nature. His voice is nimble and malleable, never grating to the ear.

Prettifun has just released “Funhouse Deluxe”, an extended version of 2024’s “Funhouse”. Make sure you buy the album cause it is filled to the brim with engaging and interesting joints.

He is the future, or at least a part of it.  Watch out!
