LeBron James Breaks NBA Scoring Record

Los Angeles Lakers’ star player, LeBron James made history yesterday. The historic moment came when he gained 38 points during a 133-130 loss by the Oklahoma City Thunder, and surpassed the previous NBA record score of 38,387, set by Abdul Jabbar back in 1989. It is a record that has stood for the past 34 years, and yesterday, LeBron James overcame that record, creating a new champion score to beat, and thus setting the bar even higher. Abdul-Jabbar first broke the previous record in 1984, just 8 months before his eventual score-topping successor was even born!

NBA Approves Mat Ishbia as New Owner of Phoenix Suns

Mat Ishbia, mortgage executive and former Michigan State guard, is the new majority owner of the Phoenix Suns and WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury. The NBA’s board of governors approved his plan to purchase the franchises from Robert Sarver. The approval was announced Monday night by the league, saying the transaction will be finalized later this week. The vote was 29-0, with the Cleveland Cavaliers abstaining, according to an anonymous speaker to the Associated Press.

Eagles Lineman Brandon Graham Fined more than Trent Williams for Unsportsmanlike Conduct in NFC Championship

Brandon Graham, a defensive lineman for the Philadelphia Eagles, attracted the wrath of the NFL on Saturday. According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Graham was reportedly fined $13,261 for his unsportsmanlike behavior in the NFC championship game against the San Francisco 49ers.
Given that Graham was not punished for gratuitous violence throughout the competition, the news is unexpected. When the league watched the game’s video, which the Eagles won 31-7, it must have seen something the officials did not.

Cleveland Cavaliers’ Donovan Mitchell, Memphis Grizzlies’ Dillion Brooks Ejected After Fight

Dillion Brooks has apparently developed a reputation as a provoker over the past few seasons in the basketball world. The Memphis Grizzlies wing was infamously ejected from a playoff game last postseason for picking a fight with Golden State Warriors guard Gary Payton II, and the same thing happened on Thursday with another player. This time, it was Cleveland Cavaliers player Donovan Mitchell.

Lakers Tickets Prices Soaring as Lebron Nears NBA Scoring Record

As basketball legend LeBron James inches closer to breaking Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s long-held NBA scoring record of 38,387 points, it seems super-fans are willing to break the bank to witness what will soon be an unforgettable moment in NBA history, as tickets to the next Lakers games have skyrocketed in price.

7-Time Super Bowl Champ Tom Brady Announces He’s ‘Retiring for Good’

Even if this looks incredibly familiar, Tom Brady announced his retirement on Wednesday. This isn’t Groundhog Day, and you haven’t gone back in time. One year to the day after his initial retirement, Brady announced his second retirement in a video he shared on Twitter. This time, he is retiring “for good.” You couldn’t look at social media for more than 20 to 30 seconds without seeing a Brady tribute video or article, all of which praised him for his exceptional and unique career, when Brady announced his retirement on February 1, 2022. Due to the fact that Brady actually did this 365 days ago, there were more jokes this time.
