Oliva Wilde’s highly anticipated film, “Don’t Worry Darling,” will be released to the public in theatres on September 23. The psychological thriller stars Florence Pugh, Harry Styles, Gemma Chan, KiKi Layne, Nick Kroll, Chris Pine, and director Olivia Wilde.
“Don’t Worry Darling,” popularly known as “DWD,” surrounds an “unhappy housewife in the 1950s [who] discovers a disturbing truth, while her loving husband hides a dark secret,” according to Deadline.
While pop star Harry Styles has been seen in “Dunkirk,” “Eternals,” and “My Policeman,” fans are especially excited to witness his newest acting performance. Although Styles successfully maintains two high-profile careers in entertainment, it appears he does not find similarities between singing and acting.
On Monday, Styles attended the 2022 79th annual Venice International Film Festival alongside his fellow castmates for the “DWD” premiere. The film received a 5-minute standing ovation, adding even more excitement to the movie’s general release.
When discussing his acting and music career, Styles stated, “Personally, I find them to be kind of opposite in a lot of ways. I think making music is a really personal thing and there’s aspects of acting where you’re drawing from experiences you’ve had but for the most part you’re pretending to play someone else. I think that’s what I find the most fun about it: playing pretend and kind of exploring different things.”
He added, “I think the fun part is you never know what you’re doing. Music I’ve done for longer, but what I like about acting is I feel like I have no idea what I’m doing.”
