Poems from Cassidy Paredes

IF I KNEW…

by

I wish I knew then, what I know now—

That gaining you meant losing me.

And in the end, I lost both.

Nothing to gain besides a million scattered pieces

Of who I was and who I now need to be.

If I knew then, what I know now—

I still would’ve gained you despite realizing I’ve lost me.

I would’ve lost both

With everything to gain, with these scattered pieces,

Because I like the broken me better—it’s who I’m meant to be.

Ded. You, a million times, you

It’s My First Holiday Without You

A Sunset

Mourning

Though I’m Drowning For Now

What Once Was Home

Always Be My Baby
