It’s okay to not be okay. There is no shame behind it either. A lot of the time in life, things get rough, and sometimes we falter, and that’s okay. There is absolutely nothing wrong with taking a break either. I, for one, have taken many breaks in my life to de-stress and recuperate.
It is only within our own human nature that we tend to sit with sadness that weighs on us for a time. And it’s okay to be sad. We must feel what we are feeling and acknowledge it is a strength many don’t have. It is okay to give yourself permission to step back and take a break.
As people, we need to take breaks in our lives. Life gets rough at a lot of points, and we as people have to properly take the time to handle and keep our mental health well and in check. The main reason why people need to take breaks in their lives comes from stress. Reducing stress is highly potent as a source of improving emotional wellness and improving your own day-to-day; and taking a break can help lower these stress levels that rise in all of us.
Taking nice mental wellness breaks can also help improve the amount of energy our bodies have, as well as improving the focus we have as people. Taking moments of rest and pauses gives your own mind time to heal and gives clarity and broader and greater perspective on things in front of us
So then you may ask: how does one take steps to just pause their life? We as people have so much going on in our lives constantly each and every day, almost nonstop. Yet there are still small and simple baby steps you can take yourself if you strive for it and create the time for it to pause and find ways to reset and rest.
One super easy way is to take a few minutes out of your day and just slowly breathe. Take nice long deep breaths in and out. This just slows down a lot of things around you. Mix breathing deeply and slowly so you can go on short walks.
Most importantly, it is okay to cry. Crying is something that is constantly looked down on. It’s seen as weak, and it shouldn’t be. Letting it all out and letting the tears flow properly is completely okay, and we should encourage it to the fullest. Crying and letting the emotions be felt and let go can help improve your overall feelings and mental wellness.
