I’ve Played This 2-Minute Song 43 Times Today. Am I Okay? Yes.

So I was scrolling through my Amazon Music stats the other night — not looking for anything deep, just procrastinating like any college student. Then, I noticed something different: I had played a song 43 times. Not in one day. Just… in total. Still, that number stared back at me like, “Hey, are you okay?”

And here’s the thing: I didn’t even remember listening to it that much. I wasn’t sobbing into a pillow with it on repeat. It wasn’t a “this song saved my life so I must play it over and over” moment. It was just always playing. While I sat in the car, while I did the dishes, while I folded laundry. It was background noise — comforting and familiar.

But apparently, my brain really liked that little tune enough to hit replay 43 times without even noticing.

I think we all have songs like that — ones that become part of the routine. You’re not obsessed, exactly. You’re not tweeting the lyrics or recommending it to every person you’ve ever met. But you keep playing it because it just fitsLike the musical equivalent of a cozy hoodie you forgot you owned but suddenly wear every other day.

What’s surprising is how music sneaks into our lives like that. You think you’re just hitting play while you make dinner, and suddenly Amazon Music’s like, “Hey, this song is your entire personality now.”

And honestly? I’m okay with it. Life’s chaotic enough. If my brain decided that a two-minute song was the thing it needed on repeat for a while, so be it. I’m not going to question the choices of Past Me. Past Me was probably just trying to survive a Tuesday.

So no, I’m not worried that I played it 43 times. If anything, I’m kind of proud. It takes a special kind of song to leave an impression. And if it helped me get through those boring or stressful moments of life? That sounds perfectly fine to me.

Now excuse me while I accidentally play it again. Out of curiosity, of course. Totally not starting round 44.
