Juan Soto already enjoying life as a Yankee

The Yankees beat the Toronto Blue Jays today at Steinbrenner Field in Tampa 12-6. The offense was exactly what we are hoping to see all season long. Aaron Judge did exactly what he does to make the Yankees win… get hits in clutch situations. He was two for two with a walk.

However, the big blow of the game came from the Bombers newest Superstar, Juan Soto. He hit a bomb to the opposite field about 450 feet away. He knew it was gone the minute he made contact.

The enthusiasm in the dugout was a sight to behold. Even though Soto is only 25 the aura that he brings to the team is that of a seasoned veteran. The thing that I forget is that this guy has been a major league player for seven seasons and is a World Series champion.

The thing that I already like about Soto is that he understands the magnitude of being a Yankee. I previously mentioned that the former great player and teammate of Soto’s, Nelson Cruz has told him the importance of being a Yankee but former Yankee Robinson Cano has also called Soto and given him positive words of encouragement and how he loved being a Yankee and his love of the fans.

I spoke to Soto tonight and can honestly say that he is very comfortable with his new teammates and is already having fun. He is also understanding what the hype of being a Yankee is all about.

When I hung up the phone with Soto I had a big smile on my face because if he thinks this is fun, wait till he gets to New York.

As Babe Ruth once said… You ain’t seen nothing yet pal!
