Mason Greenwood is No Longer Sponsored By Nike Following Arrest

Mason Greenwood, the striker for Manchester United, was recently arrested on suspicion of raping and assaulting a woman. It has also been reported that there were threats made by Greenwood to kill this woman. Allegations, along with pictures, were posted to the woman’s Instagram, but they have been deleted. Greenwood was released on bail on Wednesday.

Due to the situation, Nike will no longer be sponsoring Greenwood.

On Monday, Nike released a statement saying, “We have suspended our relationship with Mason Greenwood. We are deeply concerned by the disturbing allegations and will continue to closely monitor the situation.”

A spokesperson for Manchester United also stated, “Manchester United reiterates its strong condemnation of violence of any kind. As previously communicated, Mason Greenwood will not train with, or play for, the club until further notice.”

There has yet to be a response from Greenwood regarding the allegations against him.
