Movies That Will Be Showing Again in Theaters Soon

For the past few years, there have been several older movies that have been replayed in theaters for a limited amount of time. These include Avatar, Twilight, Spiderman, and even Hocus Pocus. Most of the time, these movies are only showing for a week or two, but they still definitely bring in an impressive amount of money from excited fans.

Here are some classic movies that have been brought back to life in theaters recently (and some that are returning very soon):

  1. Titanic

If you haven’t seen this movie yet, you’ve definitely been living under a rock. It’s one of the most romantic (and tragic) love stories of all time, in my humble opinion. So you can imagine how excited I was to hear that it is returning to theaters in 3D! It will be showing on February 10 (today!) for one week only. Check with your local theaters to see if and when it is available for you. This movie would be perfect to see on a Valentine’s Day date.

  1. To Kill A Mockingbird

We’ve most likely all heard of this classic tale since it is based on a book that a lot of us probably had to read in high school. This film returned to theaters for a very limited time back in March of 2019. When theaters show older, classic films like this, it is really cool since a whole new generation is introduced to the experience of seeing it on the big screen like it was originally intended to be when it was released many decades ago.

  1. Hocus Pocus

Back in 2018, select theaters showed Hocus Pocus again for its 25th anniversary. Of course, this movie was playing the whole week of Halloween and brought in a pretty decent amount of money. It was originally released a few years before I was born in 1993, so here’s hoping that they bring it back to the big screen in years to come. Talk about iconic!

  1. Harry Potter Movies

Calling all Potterheads! All of the Harry Potter movies were playing in select theaters in September of 2018 in honor of the 20th anniversary of the publication of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. This showing also allowed fans to purchase a $25 festival pass that included merchandise like keychains, badges, and specially designed cups for the occasion.

  1. The Nightmare Before Christmas

It’s true that several Disney movies have been replayed in theaters over the years, but 2018 was definitely the year that held many of the Halloween showings. Along with Hocus Pocus, Halloween enthusiasts could watch The Nightmare Before Christmas, Coco, and various other spooky Disney movies.

This list featured many movies that I’m a fan of, and most were replayed before the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020. Ever since then, it seems like our society has become more digitized and virtual. People got so used to staying at home, and many things became more accessible on the internet. Keeping this in mind, I really hope that theaters keep doing this since it keeps the experience of getting out to go see a movie alive. Leaving the house and having fun little experiences is what makes life worth living!
