Now that Messi is thinking of retiring, Julian Alvarez will be the next big soccer star (Op-Ed)

Now that Lionel Messi is thinking about calling it quits after almost twenty years of amazing plays, all eyes are on Julian Alvarez, who may become the next great soccer star. Alvarez has established himself as one of Argentina’s most promising young players, following in Messi’s footsteps with a string of outstanding performances and an incredible record. There are multiple reasons why Alvarez is a player with immense potential and may become a legend.

Firstly, it must be acknowledged that Lionel Messi has permanently altered the course of soccer. Among the all-time greats in football, Messi has an incredible 833 goals, 672 of which were for Barcelona and 106 for the Argentine national team. From around the globe, millions of admirers have been enchanted by his stunningly skilled and elegant playing style. Messi will go down in football history for all his accomplishments; from his modest origins to his stunning 2022 World Cup triumph with Argentina.

Our focus now shifts to Julian Alvarez, the rising star among the youth prodigies. Even though he’s just 23 years old, Alvarez already has an amazing resume that includes 15 championships and a key part in Argentina’s successful World Cup campaign in 2022 in Qatar. Observers and colleagues have lauded his skill and adaptability, drawing similarities to Lionel Messi, who is a legend in his own right.

The rise to fame that Alvarez has achieved is certainly noteworthy. While playing for River Plate, Alvarez flourished under the guidance of legendary coach Marcelo Gallardo. As a unique talent, he stands out because to his excellent game sense and versatility as an offensive player.

Because of his versatility, Alvarez can showcase his skill on the field in a variety of combinations. When used as a striker, winger, or offensive midfielder, Alvarez always makes an impression. Julian Alvarez is leading the charge for Argentine football’s advancement as Lionel Messi hands the ball to the youth of the nation. Alvarez has the formula for a legendary career because to his talent, adaptability, and dogged persistence. 

Soccer has a bright future thanks to Julian Alvarez; even though we will miss Messi, he will go down in history as a legend. Now, we are filled with anticipation for what lies ahead, as we see the legend’s torch being passed on from one figure to another.
