Olivia Dean is an English singer and songwriter born in Haringey, a borough of London, England. Dean found an interest in music at a young age, taking musical theater lessons and even singing in a gospel choir, and eventually enrolled in the performing arts BRIT School at age 15.

Dean began writing songs at age 16 and uploaded covers of songs on YouTube up until the release of her debut single Reasons To Stay in 2018. The single went on to gain a surprising amount of attention, and by 2019, Dean had signed a contract with AMF Records and Virgin EMI Records. Her first studio single was released in November, followed by her debut EP “OK Love You Bye.”

Dean continued to release music and tour throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, helped by some of her live performances going viral on TikTok. Eventually, in 2023, her television debut on Later… with Jools Holland helped bring attention to her debut full-length album, Messy, which was released later that June. Since then, Dean has released a second studio album, garnered over 57.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify, and won numerous awards, five from the Brit Awards, three from the MOBO Awards, and more.
