Bio

Omega is the inventor and leader of the musical genere “Urban Merengue” the revelation of Caribbean Music of the latest years. A musical revolution coming “from below” and pushed by the strenght of “the Calle” (the Street). An overwhelming success with unique terms. A fame born among people and without the help of traditional media and discographic label. Omega swept over every existing parameter in today’s Latin Urban Music with his “Mambo Violento”. In 2009 he finally releases his first “official” album, entitled “El Dueño Del Flow”, released worldwide by Planet Records under license from Allegro Productions. In 2011 he releases “El Dueño Del Flow 2”, an updated version of 2009 album including some “Bonus Tracks”.

Harnessing in his rhythms and lyrics he is the true voice of “la calle” (the streets). Nothing comes close to the media phenomenon that Omega has caused in the music of the Caribbean and the United States.

HISTORY

The young Antonio Peter de la Rosa, artistically known as Omega, was born on January 17th, 1979, in Monseñor Nouel (Bonao) – Dominican Republic. He formed his own band in 2003, Omega y su Mambo Violento, with a contagious music and lyrics that speak of daily life, making the difference and producing a “before and after Omega” in the merengue.

His success was immediate, and even without a real label backup until 2009, the Artist has capably scored one hit after another thanks to the strenght of his music and tracks like “Alante Alante”, “Tu No Me Ama” that started playing strikingly in car stereos, discos, “colmadotes” (Dominican minimarket that have a powerful HiFi at the entrance as main attraction) reaching the radio and tracks like “Chambonea”, “Tu No Ta Pa Mi”, “Que Tengo Que Hacer”, all tracks become hits in Dominican Republic and United States.

Omega gained a Premio Casandra in Dominican Republic and the Reconocimiento of Puerto Rican Senate as Young Artist Distinguished Abroad and realized successful live tours in the United States, Spain, Italy, Holland, Belgium and collaborations with Daddy Yankee, Pitbull, Toby Love, Gocho, Fuego.
