The widely known and admired R&B singer, producer and rapper, Pharrell Williams, is about to receive the Golden Note Award from ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers). The artist will receive his award during an invitation-only ceremony that will take place on June 29, in the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.
The Rhythm & Soul Award is gifted to composers, songwriters, and singers who succeeded in special ways. Some recipients of this award include: Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie, Quincy Jones, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Jermaine Dupri, LL Cool J and Sean “Diddy” Combs.
ASCAP’s President and Chairman Paul Williams announced: “Pharrell’s contributions to the history of American music are immeasurable. From the pioneering work of The Neptunes, to the success of both N*E*R*D and his own solo projects, Pharrell has proven his versatility time and again. Pharrell continues to push boundaries and uphold his status as a music trailblazer. I can’t think of a better artist to receive this year’s Golden Note Award.”
Pharrell is honored to receive the prize. In the past he got the chance to work with artists such as Jay-Z, Beyonce, and Mariah Carey. He is thrilled to be recognized with such a prestigious award!
