Celebrity Chef Rocco DiSpirito has found a way to combat his high blood pressure, high cholesterol and chronic fatigue, not to mention drop a reported 50 pounds! How did he do it? It’s a diet he calls The Pound A Day Diet. “The Pound A Day Diet is as high-velocity as a weight-loss program can get,” the Food Network star told Spry. “Only liposuction provides faster results. I did the research. I know it works better [than liposuction] because I personally tested it on over three dozen people.” The low-carb Mediterranean-style diet works in phases that DiSpirito says can help you lose five pounds every five days. The key is that every week the diet changes so you won’t plateau. Not only did DiSpirito find success with The Pound A Day Diet but also The View host Whoopi Goldberg, who is reported to have lost 30 pounds using DiSpirito’s plan.

High-Fat Diets Could Reduce the Brain’s Ability to Regulate Food Intake
When high-fat and high-calorie foods are consumed regularly, our brain’s ability to regulate hunger cues, and calorie intake gets reduced. A new study has shown evidence of how continuously eating a fatty diet seems to disrupt the neurological pathway between the brain and the gut.
The cells in charge of signaling the brain when we’ve had enough food are called astrocytes. According to new research published in The Journal of Physiology, calorie intake is regulated in the short term by astrocytes (large star-shaped cells in the brain that regulate many different functions of neurons in the brain). Astrocytes also control the signaling pathway between the brain and the gut, a path that can get interrupted by high calorie diets.
